Uniform

School uniform

Uniform helps to create a school identity and promotes a safe working atmosphere. We have chosen our uniform after full consultation with our students. It is smart, but practical and we are confident that parents will support us in ensuring that students are correctly dressed for school.

Year 7-11

Stowupland High School Navy Blue with V-neck  jumper with logo or Cardigan (compulsory and only available from Inces/My Clothing). A school jumper/cardigan must be worn around school but may be removed in lessons.

“Hoodies” may not be worn as a coat or in replacement of school jumpers. Failure to meet this expectation may result in the item being confiscated.

Royal Blue Stowupland High School polo shirt with logo (compulsory and only available from Inces of Stowmarket/My Clothing). Polo shirts without the logo are not acceptable, and coloured and/or long-sleeved tops may not be worn underneath.

Skirts should be black regulation skirt. Skirt should be knee length, made of non-clingy fabric in a tailored design. Skirts bought from other retailers should be indistinguishable from the school skirts available from our uniform provider (Inces/My Clothing).

Trousers should be black, tailored with waistband, pockets and cover the ankle bone. Jeans/ denim fabric, leggings and three-quarter length trousers are not allowed.

Note: Parents/carers are advised to buy black skirts, trousers and shorts from Inces or My Clothing and should be aware that if purchased from other high street providers, their ranges may not be acceptable under our uniform policy so please check carefully.

Shorts should be black tailored; not Lycra.

Note: Parents/carers are advised to buy black skirts, trousers and shorts from Inces/My Clothing and should be aware that if purchased from high street providers, their ranges may not be acceptable under our uniform policy so please check carefully.

Coats should be warm, practical and preferably water/showerproof.

Shoes should be plain black all over and be made of leather or a leather look material. Sensible and comfortable designs are required and for health and safety reasons, canvas material, backless shoes, open toes, ‘pumps’ which do not cover much of the foot, high heels, boots and platform shoes are not acceptable. Skate shoes, canvas shoes, plimsolls and any footwear with coloured logos or branding are not allowed.

Make-up / Jewellery / Hair

We do not encourage students to wear make-up and nail varnish in school. Discreet make-up is allowed but no coloured nail varnish, gel or acrylic nails are allowed.

A watch and one discreet stud or small hoop in each ear is the only permitted jewellery. No other piercings or jewellery is allowed.  Hair colours are only allowed within a 'natural' range.

Equipment for Physical Education
