Pastoral Care, Support and Guidance
The Sixth Form offers much support to our students. Our Year 13 exit survey consistently finds that the positive working relationship between staff and students has a positive impact on their experience with us.
Each student has a form tutor whose job it is to provide care, support and guidance on a daily basis. Subject teachers also provide advice about subject related issues and on academic progress.
Each student will have regular, daily contact with their form tutor throughout the school year which enables the student to have a dialogue about their academic progress and to set targets in order to improve or develop their performance. These dialogues are used in tandem with performance data gathered from regular assessments to ensure that all students are given appropriate support.
As a Sixth Form team, we have an open door policy and encourage students to discuss issues with us so that we can offer support or, if more appropriate, direct students to a more specialist source.
