Mr Sim—Deputy Headteacher of Behaviour, Attendance and Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
We welcome our new students and parents/carers to our school community. At Stowupland High School we maintain a culture of genuine mutual respect. This is achieved by staff being extra polite to students and students being as polite to staff as we are to them. Students are expected to follow instructions first time every time and maintain an attitude of being warm, welcoming and friendly. This means that students never ignore adults, are as polite to us as we are to them and show respect by addressing them as Sir/Miss and thanking them for lessons.
Stowupland has a commitment to safeguard and promote the welfare of students. We have a clear Safeguarding Policy and Procedure and a copy can be found on our website. If a student or parent/carer has any concerns relating to a student, they should report them to one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL).
All our staff receive safeguarding training and each member of the Progress Team will be able to offer support with any situations or concerns that students may have. We will promote ourselves as a ‘telling school’ and encourage students to speak to any member of staff if they are worried about anything.
All visitors to the school, including parents/carers, are required to report to the School Office.
Parents/carers must book appointments ahead of time and be respectful to all staff in school and over the phone.
